The data for the weather station begins in 1763, when the observatory was under construction.&nbsp;You can <a href=\"https:\/\/climatebinge.com\/?est=true&amp;chart=heatmap&amp;smooth=false&amp;measurement=TMAX&amp;firstyear=1762&amp;station=ITE00100554\">view the Milan data in the app here<\/a> . The next oldest weather station is at the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Clementinum\">Clementinum<\/a> in Prague. Before <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Daniel_Gabriel_Fahrenheit\">Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit<\/a> invented the first mercury thermometer in 1714, weather data was imprecise. These years are examples of the extreme cold weather brought on by the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Little_Ice_Age\">Little Ice Age<\/a>, which lasted roughly between 1500 and 1900.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Have a look at the zipper line produced by leap days.
